Roger-Yves Bost Can’t Be Caught in the Région Sud Prize CSIO 5*

St. Tropez, France – September 17, 2026 – Roger-Yves Bost (FRA) and Equine America Ballerine du Vilpion delivered a winning performance at the Polo St. Tropez – Haras de Gassin, taking the €28,200 Région Sud Prize CSIO 5* in the CSIO 5* Small Tour at the Longines League of Nations™ – St. Tropez. The French partnership produced two faultless rounds in the 1.45m two-phase competition, stopping the clock in 23.48 seconds in the decisive second phase. The result gave Bost a home victory on the opening day of the 2026 event.

The victory was built on the experience of 15-year-old Equine America Ballerine du Vilpion, the chestnut Selle Français mare by Baloubet du Rouet out of a Quidam de Revel line. Bost kept the mare clear throughout both phases and found the pace required to edge a tightly packed leaderboard. The official programme lists the class as a 1.45m two-phase competition with €28,200 in prize money.

Bost’s winning time proved decisive in an all-clear top three. Fellow Frenchman François-Xavier Boudant (FRA) finished second with Quercus van den Oude Eik after also jumping two clear rounds, his time of 24.69 seconds leaving him 1.21 seconds behind the winner. Luxembourg’s Victor Bettendorf (LUX) completed the podium with Encore Toi du Linon, likewise faultless, in 24.71 seconds — just two hundredths of a second behind Boudant.

For Bost, the result adds another strong performance to an already distinguished partnership with Ballerine du Vilpion. The 2026 Longines League of Nations™ meeting at Gassin runs from September 17 to 20, with the prestigious team competition scheduled for Sunday. The French rider will now look to build on this opening success as the action continues at the Saint-Tropez venue.
