TerraNova Equestrian Center is introducing a new immersive equestrian retreat designed for riders and horse enthusiasts who want to deepen their horsemanship while stepping away from the pace of everyday life. Led by professional trainer Tik Maynard, the 3.5-day experience will combine focused equestrian instruction with wellness, education and time to reconnect with horses in the peaceful surroundings of TerraNova, held December 3-6, 2026.
More than a traditional riding clinic, the retreat is designed around the idea that meaningful horsemanship requires time to learn, to listen, to reflect and to develop a deeper understanding between horse and human. Participants will have the opportunity to refine their skills and perspective while experiencing the benefits of stepping away from the demands of everyday life.
The equestrian program will include private and small-group riding, theory lessons, groundwork, liberty and other foundational horsemanship experiences. The intimate format allows participants to engage more deeply with the material and focus on developing a thoughtful, confident partnership with their horse.

The experience extends beyond the arena. Participants will have opportunities to explore mindfulness and equine-assisted wellness, sports psychology and confidence, trail exploration and other curated experiences designed to complement their time with their horses.
The setting is an important part of the retreat. TerraNova Equestrian Center is surrounded by mature live oaks, wildlife and the natural tranquility of Myakka City. The property offers a rare environment where horses and people can slow down, spend time outdoors, and enjoy a sense of quiet and connection.
Evenings will provide time to gather and unwind, with thoughtfully planned meals and opportunities for conversation and community. Participants will stay in cabin-style lodging onsite, allowing the retreat experience to continue beyond scheduled programming.

The retreat will offer two participation options. The Full Riding Experience is $3,250 per person and includes riding, horse stabling, experiences, meals and single-occupancy cabin-style lodging. The Full Non-Riding Experience is $2,650 per person and includes all experiences, auditing of equestrian experiences, meals and single-occupancy cabin-style lodging.
With limited participation spots available, the retreat is designed to provide an intimate setting for learning, connection and restoration.
