One Big Thing: Celebrating Chipmunk
What can’t we say about the incredible, unstoppable fischerChipmunk? What an achievement this World Championship win has been for the horse who now has two individual golds to his name as the reigning Olympic champion — to say nothing of Michael Jung now not only being the only event rider ever to win three individual Olympic gold medals, but also the only rider in eventing history to hold five individual golds between the Olympics & World Championships. This weekend certainly cements their place in history — and if this is Chipmunk’s championships swan song, what an amazingly special moment for both of them.
For a horse who’s only thrice been out of the top-10 at any FEI event he’s ever completed, this certainly is a lovely cherry on top. To reminisce, here are some more great recent moments in Chipmunk’s career as a world-wide winner.
Did you know Chipmunk’s only two 5*s have been Kentucky, where he won both? Here is the final phase of Mikki’s fourth and Chipmunk’s first win at the Kentucky CCI5* in 2022:
