Bordeaux, France – February 08, 2026 – Having been relatively discrete since the start of the competition (11th yesterday in the World Cup Grand Prix), last year’s winner of the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ in Bordeaux, Martin Fuchs (SUI), magnificently “saved” his weekend by winning the €165,000 Audi Grand Prix CSI 5*-W on Sunday afternoon with assertiveness riding Conner Jei in a thrilling jump-off.
After a first round built with the same technical finesse as the previous day, seven riders qualified for the jump-off. Among them were two women, both French, whom many hoped would triumph following the victory of Ireland’s Jessica Burke (IRL) in the World Cup stage the day before. The two French riders came out with honors: four points for Marie Demonte (FRA) and Forban de Bellard, who recovered well from her fall on Friday and rode a solid course, and fifth place for Camille Condé-Ferreira (FRA) and Bassano de Nantuel, who rode a double clear round but lacked just a touch of experience to make the podium. This was her first jump-off in a 5* Grand Prix and only her second CSI 5*: a great performance, therefore, for this 27-year-old rider, who we will undoubtedly see again at future major events.

Experience, on the other hand, was not lacking for Switzerland’s Martin Fuchs (SUI) when it came to beating Luxembourg’s Victor Bettendorf (LUX), who had long been in the lead in the jump-off with Encore Toi du Linon.
It took the Swiss rider just 15 hundredths of a second to knock him off the top spot: “Victor had an incredible round, so fast from the first to the last fence. I knew I had to go in there and give as much speed as I could. I really turned really short from fence two to fence three, and Connor Jei can speed up very easily for a big horse and also jump from anywhere, which is why I was able to really push the pace with him.”

Already successful in Bordeaux during his first participation last year, Martin Fuchs (SUI) confirms his attachment to the competition: “I really love this show jumping event. And what makes this victory even more precious is the success of my fiancée, Simone Pearce, in the Grand Prix dressage. It’s nice to have come here as a family and for each of us to have won a Grand Prix in our respective disciplines. It’s definitely a special moment.”
Following yesterday’s historic chapter, the show jumping part of the Jumping de Bordeaux came to a close on a high note with a former world champion taking the victory. This fitting conclusion was watched by a packed crowd who had shown their loyalty throughout the weekend. The event combined sport, emotion and tradition.
