Hamburg, Germany – May 13, 2026 – Kristaps Neretnieks (LAT) and Quintair were off and running on the first day of the Hamburg Derby CSI 5* & CSI 4*, charging to first place in the €28,500 Al Shira’aa Derby Tour Prize CSI 4* – 1.45m, presented by Belmondo.
The first qualifier for the German Jumping-Derby CSI 4* was contested by 52 combinations and run under the format of a speed challenge. In the end, it was the Latvian and the 16-year-old dark bay Holsteiner gelding (Quintero x Con Air) who blazed past the competition, clearing all the fences before securing the win in 76.15 seconds.
One of the most traditional nations when it comes to the derby, Ireland was well represented again. This time, it was David Simpson (IRL) who came closest to notching another win for the Irishmen. He rode Pjotr van de Kruishoeve towards silver honors in 78.30 seconds.
Another “derby nation” rounded out the top three as Great Britain’s Guy Williams (GBR) guided BH Gringos Legacy flawlessly across the finish lin in 78.49 seconds.
