It’s On! Shanghai Sets the Stage for Landmark LGCT Showdown this Weekend

Shanghai, China – May 01, 2026 – The stage is set for a landmark weekend of sport as the Longines Global Champions Tour of Shanghai returns from 1–3 May 2026, with the world’s best riders and horses gathering at the Shanghai Juss International Equestrian Centre for the third stage of the championship race.

Speaking at the opening press conference, anticipation was high as this year’s event marks the 12th edition of LGCT Shanghai, set against the backdrop of the Tour’s 20th championship year – a milestone moment that reflects both the legacy and continued evolution of the series at the very highest level of the sport.

An elite field of international athletes arrives in Shanghai with momentum building after the opening stages of the season, each aiming to secure crucial championship points in a city that has consistently delivered world-class competition and an electric atmosphere. As the championship battle begins to take shape, Shanghai represents a pivotal early-season test, where precision, consistency and performance under pressure will begin to define the leading contenders.

Jan Tops, President and Founder of the Longines Global Champions Tour, reflected on the significance of the moment:
