Rome, Italy – May 29, 2026 – The first chapter of Piazza di Siena’s most eagerly awaited competition took place today with the draw for the Intesa Sanpaolo Nations Cup, one of the most anticipated events scheduled in the main arena for Friday 29 May.
CSIO Event Director Diego Nepi Molineris and the President of the Jury, Sweden’s Anna Lindqvist, led this key moment in front of the chef d’equipes of the ten competing nations. Show Director Sara Riffeser Monti and FISE Secretary General Simone Perillo were also present at the Casino dell’Orologio.
Italy will be the first to enter the arena in this centenary Nations Cup, which marks a reversal of order compared to last year, when the Italian team was the last to compete. In a twist of fate, the United States will bring the event to a close, having competed first in 2025 when they won the most prestigious competition.
Following Italy will be Belgium, then Great Britain, Ireland, Germany, France, Brazil, Sweden and Mexico, before the United States brings the competition to a close.

Further spectacle will be provided by the Nations Cup: the flypast by the Frecce Tricolori over Piazza di Siena at 1.40 pm will once again serve as the spectacular prologue to the competition this year, with the first rider due to enter at 2.30 pm.
