Today kicks off the action at the 2026 MARS Bromont CCI, the sole CCI4*-L on the Canadian calendar and a stalwart spot on the spring calendar for many an event rider. Bromont is known for its up-to-task cross country courses, designed at the 4* level by Derek di Grazia (USA) and at the 3* and below levels by Jay Hambly (CAN), who is also Assistant Designer to Derek for the 4* tracks.

This year, we’ve got a field of just over 70 to see across the CCI2*-L through CCI4*-L levels, including a select number of U25 riders who were granted a berth in this year’s MARS Bromont Rising program to take part in educational sessions from the likes of Peter Gray, Bettina Hoy, Max Corcoran and many others. Fox Nation, the family farm of the Wildasins, is also supporting this year’s Bromont Rising, hosting a welcome barbecue for participants on Tuesday evening and also leading a session on owners and sponsors on Thursday. It’s also a truly international field of competitors, with seven nations represented across divisions (Australia, Canada, France, Colombia, Great Britain, Japan and the USA).

In the CCI4* divisions, we’ll see a total of 16 horses in the 4*-L and and 9 in the 4*-S. The 4*-L features riders such as 2025 champion Lauren Nicholson, returning this year with Landmarks Jungle’s Gold, Paris Olympian Caroline Pamukcu with She’s the One and HSH Double Sixteen, Pan American Games team silver medalist Sharon White with Claus 63, and fan-favorites Ali Kuhn and Little Hail, among many others. The 4*-S will feature riders such as U.S. Olympians Boyd Martin (Fetiche des Rouges) and Phillip Dutton (Denim) as well as Canadian Olympian Jessie Phoenix (Fluorescent Adolescent) as well as Luhmühlen CCI5*-bound Lucienne Bellissimo with Kitsch Couture HPK. Full entries for all divisions can be found here.

Our Ground Jury for the 4*-L is headed up by Sandy Phillips (GBR), accompanied by Peter Gray (CAN) and Joachim Dimmek (GER). The 4*-S Ground Jury is presided over by Bea di Grazia (USA), accompanied by Carola Bierlein (GER). Burghley Event Director Martyn Johnson (GBR) is serving as our Technical Delegate this week for the two 4* divisions, and Brody Robertson (USA) returns as the show jumping course designer, assisted by Sarah Roberts (CAN).
