Álvaro González de Zárate Fernandez Accelerates to Win the Porsche Trophy CSI 5* at Madrid

Madrid, Spain – May 17, 2026 – The final afternoon session of 115th edition of the CSI 5* of Madrid began with the €28,200 Porsche Trophy CSI 5*, a 1.45m class where speed thrilled the packed grandstands of the Real Club de Campo Villa de Madrid. The standout performance came from Spanish rider Álvaro González de Zárate (ESP) and his mare Casa Diva PS, who claimed victory.

The young Spanish rider, regarded as one of the country’s brightest emerging talents, came into the class full of confidence after reaching Saturday’s King’s Cup jump-off. His fast and accurate round in 65.11 seconds secured a memorable win.

Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA) & Chabrello PS

The result was extremely close, with Italian speed specialist Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA) finishing just four hundredths of a second behind aboard Chabrello PS.

Ismail Osama El Borai (EGY) & Lablue

Egypt’s Ismail Osama El Borai (EGY) completed the podium with Lablue.

Following the class, the Spanish national anthem was played in honour of the home victory before Tomás Villén, CEO of Porsche Ibérica, presented the trophy to Álvaro González de Zárate.
