Abdullah Al Sharbatly Blazes to the Perfect Start at the 2026 H.H. The Father Amir’s Prix CSI 4*

Her Highness Attends the Opening Tour Competitions of the H.H. The Father Amir Prix

Doha, Qatar – January 02, 2026 – One of the fastest riders in the world, Abdullah Al Sharbatly (KSA) kicked off the new year in winning fashion, getting off to the perfect in the 2026 edition of H.H The Father Amir’s Prix CSI 4*, topping the €30,000 Speed Challenge CSI 4* at the stunning Al Shaqab.

Her Highness, Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation (QF), attended the opening day at Al Shaqab as Tour 1 of the H.H. The Father Amir’s Prix 2026 officially commenced in Doha.

Tour 1 brings together international and regional riders across CSI 1*, CSI 2* and CSI4* categories, with a total prize fund of €538,000. Across the full H.H. The Father Amir Prix four-tour series, prize money totals €3,303,000, with Tours 1 and 2 welcoming 248 riders competing with 524 horses.

The event is organized by the Qatar Equestrian Federation, Al Shaqab, and the Qatar Olympic Committee, in partnership with Qatar Airways as Official Airline Partner, United Development Company (UDC) as Complementary Partner, Saleh Al Hamad Al Mana Group as Transport Partner, Al Kass Sports Channels as Broadcast Partner, and Education Above All as the official advocacy partner.

The opening day programme featured competitions across the Indoor Arena and Outdoor Arena, with classes spanning multiple categories, reflecting the Tour’s role in supporting both international-level performance and the continued development of regional talent within the FEI competition structure.

Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA) & Vasco 118

In order to claim the first important class of the season, Al Sharbatly (KSA) had to overcome fierce competition aboard Boeckmanns Lord Pezi Junior, leaving the flying Italian Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA) and Vasco 118 in second place, registering no penalties in 57.93 seconds while the Gaudiano galloped across the finish line just after the 59-second mark.

Two riders from the Middle East finished amongst the top three as Ahmad Saber Hamcho (SYR) and Frenchy VDS flew towards bronze honors in 59.42 seconds.
