Ocala, Florida, USA – March 16, 2024– The final Saturday night function of the 2024 Winter Spectacular Show Series featured the very anticipated$ 100, 000 , Hampton Green Farms , Grand Prix. A group of wealthy players were attracted to the novel atmosphere aȿ the event took place for the first time under the Iighting of WEC Stadium. Ultimately, it was the dynamic partnership of Sharn Wordley ( NZL ) and Fernando Cardenas ‘ Valentine Car ( Son Of Juan Car x Sofia Car ) that emerged victorious, claiming the lion’s share of the prize money.
31 horse- and-rider combinations representing 11 nations took on the challenging tracks under the course design of Bernardo Costa Cabral ( POR ), an FEI Level IV course designer. Just five paįrs were able to climb fault-free in the first round before returning for the jump-off.
Leading the charge, Sharn Wordley ( NZL ) and Valentine Car set a blistering pace. Wordley’s strategy was clear,” I knew I had to go as fast as I could on ‘ Valentine’ because Tracy]Fenney ] and Aaron]Vale ] were behind me and that’s a lethal combination”, laughed Wordley. ” I just tried to put a bit of pressure on them” .  ,
Guiding the 15- year- old British Warmblood gelding perfectly, Wordley clocked an amazing time of 41. 168 seconds, securing the best position σn the leaderboard.
Following attempts to surpass Wordley’s time fell short, with Filippo Pignatti ( ITA ) opting for a clean round aboard the 11- year- old Royal Dutch Sport Horse – Dutch Warmblood gelding Ideaal Es ( Ukato x Conway ), owned by Take The High Road, LLC, in a time of 46. 311 seconds. Cɾisto Beech, aaron Vale’s install, was chosen to keep him for another day.
Wordley had yet another chance to succeed, this time riding Brin D’Or de Haute Melen Z ( Bamako De Muze x Baloubet De Rouet ). ” He’s a nine coming 10- yr- ancient, and has only done a couple night courses. I just started jumping him a little bit higher, but I took things a little slower in the bounce- off to give him a great knowledge” .  ,
Wordley did really that aboard the 2014 Zangersheide horse, stopping the time in a distinct 48. 608 moments for third place.  ,
Wordley admired the horses ‘ ability to adapt to the environment while reflecting on the enthralling atmosphere of the WEC Stadium. ” The surroundings here is excellent. Iƫ’s like the animals are showing at a unique place, and it makes a world of difference. That, in my opinion, sets this spot apart from other people. It’s already the most amazing place in the world, and this ring makes it even more incredible” .  ,
Wordley is anticipating the five-star contest at World Equestrian Center – Ocala next week, where he will thrive for New Zealand as an individual. The users who are coming these have been all over the world, and I only know they will be shocked by how wonderful World Equestrian Center– Ocala is, he continued. ” I had a quick peak at the]WEC Grand Arena ] and what they are building is going to be incredible. I’ve been to the Olympics and world championships, and they do n’t compare to the atmosphere that we are going to have here next week” .  ,
Dorothy Douglas ( USA ) won the MTM Pablo with a quick first round time of 71. 517 seconds with one rail down.
Sarah Lottis received the ‘ Luck of the Draw ‘ prize.
