August 30, 2024– WIHS’s recent ranking update has caused interest in the top riders from each division. All of the top-ranked riders are WIHS alumni, many of them having ribbons from 2023.
In the Equitation, Kate Hagerty is currently ranked number one for Equitation East with 4509.00 points. Last year, she could be seen on the leaderboard with, Magic Moment, placing 6th in the WIHS Equitation Jumper Phase. On the West side, Violet Tatum is currently ranked number one with 3244.00 points. Tatum is last year’s reserved champion for the Small Junior Hunter 15 & under with her partner, Evermore. In the Pony Equitation, Corrigan Janiak is in the lead with 894.00 points. Janiak showed last year with Sugar Rush, the chestnut, Welsh pony, gelding.
On the Hunter side, Kingstown and Sarasen Jablon currently hold the number one spot in the Children’s Hunters with 3046.00 points. Jablon showed at WIHS last year with a different partner. In the Adult Hunters, Stephanie King and Play Maker are leading the division with 6056.00 points, the highest total point value of any ranked individual. Last year, the team placed 6th in the Adult Amateur Hunter Championships at WIHS.
In the Jumpers, Kilbrackan Blue Jay and Grace Lowe are the top pair in the Children’s Jumpers with 3706.00 points. The team showed last year, placing 6th in the WIHS Children’s Jumpers 1.15m in a highly competitive class. The Adult Jumper top pair is Dartani and Kimberly Coyle with 5542.00 points, the second highest point value. This pair placed in the Adult Amateur Jumpers at WIHS last year.
