We now have the drawn order for the MARS Maryland 5 Star at Fair Hill, presented by Brown Advisory! Riders who have multiple horses entered will head up the order as always, and this year the task will fall to Caroline Pamukcu, who has three horses entered and will take 5* rookie HSH Tolan King down centerline and out of the start box first. She’ll also close the curtain as the final rider on cross country with another special 5* debut, her Paris horse HSH Blake.
Our Form Guide will be dropping tomorrow morning, but you’ll be able to see a first glimpse of the competitors today at the First Horse Inspection, which kicks off at 1 p.m. ET with the CCI3*-L division. You can view the full drawn order here.

In a huge milestone for Philadelphia’s Work to Ride program, founder Lezlie Hiner’s longtime dream of a year-round riding facility has finally come true. The nonprofit, which has introduced generations of Philly youth to horses and polo, celebrated the grand opening of the new 44,000-square-foot McCausland Arena at Chamounix Equestrian Center late last month.
The $15 million steel-and-wood facility, made possible by a $3 million donation from the McCausland Foundation, ensures that “her kids” can ride through every season—no matter the weather. With alumni like CEO Kareem Rosser now helping lead the program, the new arena marks both a full-circle moment and a bold new chapter for urban equestrian access in the city.

This year’s Thoroughbred Makeover crowned a freestyle champion whose performance reached far beyond the competition itself. Professional rider Jacquelyn Dickey and her horse Bandon (“Donner”) won the division with an emotional routine dedicated to suicide prevention and performed in memory of her late son, Austin.
Riding to Rascal Flatts’ “Why,” Jacquelyn carried banners reading “You Matter” and “You Are Enough”—messages that resonated deeply with the audience and even the show’s announcer, Kyle Rothfus, who shared his own story of loss and urged others to reach out for help.
Through her performance, Jacquelyn transformed grief into advocacy, sparking conversations about mental health across the equestrian community. She continues to honor Austin’s legacy through The Dash, a book of his photography and writings, with proceeds supporting a mental health scholarship through Active Minds.
You won’t want to miss the full story on this incredibly special moment here.
