If you’ve got a cool young horse to show off and Loch Moy Farm is in your vicinity, you’re in luck: entries for the Horse Sport MD Bred to Event Classic qualifier on October 23 (the final one before the Championship, October 24-25) have been extended past their closing date!

The Bred to Event Classic, sponsored by Horse Sport MD, provides a structured pathway for the development and evaluation of young event horses.

Aligned with the Maryland International Equestrian Foundation’s mission to support the future of eventing, the program invests in both breeders and young horses, providing a platform to showcase the quality and potential of horses from yearlings through five-year-olds.

The Bred to Event Classic is also open to any breed, so off-track Thoroughbreds can enter and are encouraged to. It’s truly an event that’s intended to show the versatility eventing favors in a horse.

The competition features a hybrid format that’s a bit less intensive than the USEA Young Event Horse pathway and also features free jumping as a judged element. Short derby courses and an open gallop are also part of the judging. Yearlings up through 5-year-olds are welcome to enter.
