The final show jumping phase on Sunday brought the competition to a close at the international Baborówko Equestrian Festival. The last day of the event determined the winners of the most important international classes as well as the medalists of the Polish Senior Eventing Championships.

The most prestigious class of this year’s edition was the CCI4*-S for the Baborówko Equestrian prize. Victory went to Sweden’s Jenny Glebenius riding Canela. Her compatriot Christoffer Forsberg with Hippo’s Sapporo TSF finished second, while the best-placed Polish rider, Katarzyna Brandys on Sel Oscar, claimed third place.

The CCI4*-S competition also decided the medals of the Polish Senior Eventing Championships. Following an exciting finale, Katarzyna Brandys riding Sel Oscar secured the gold medal. Paweł Warszawski aboard Cagliostro PKZ took silver, while Joanna Pawlak riding Armin De Monsieur won bronze.

Jenny Glebenius and Canela were also awarded for the best cross-country performance, receiving the trophy presented by Beata Hanyżak, the Starost of Szamotuły County, as well as the Apart special prize for the best female rider. Christoffer Forsberg and Hippo’s Sapporo TSF received the trophy presented by Piotr Michalak, Mayor of the Town and Municipality of Szamotuły, for the best dressage result. The special prize of the Polish Horse Breeders Association for the best Polish-bred horse was awarded to Joanna Pawlak and Armin De Monsieur.

“I’ve been feeling very good here and I’ve been very happy all weekend. My mare has been a real superstar,” said the winner of the class, Jenny Glebenius, about her horse.

Germany’s Antonia Baumgart finished second aboard Ris De Talm, a horse purchased in Baborówko several years ago during the sport horse auction. Amanda Andersson riding Jersey, who had been leading after Saturday’s cross-country phase, completed the podium in third place.

“We had great days. It’s my first time here in Baborówko and I really enjoyed it. It’s quite an impressive venue and my horse just felt great whole weekend and we could just enjoy our trip here,” said winner Frida Andersen about her impressions of the Baborówko Equestrian Festival.

In the CCI3*-S for the Wielkopolska Region prize, Germany’s Mathies Rüder riding Hjoptimus proved unbeatable. It was his first victory at the three-star level. Dutch rider Merel Blom-Hulsman aboard Checkpoint 46 finished second, while Germany’s Olympic champion Julia Krajewski riding Intouchable Tonic placed third.

Over four days of competition, spectators were able to enjoy eventing at the highest international level, culminating in thrilling final competitions and the crowning of the Polish Senior Eventing Champions.
