Miami Beach, United States – April 04, 2026 – The Longines Global Champions Tour of Miami Beach continued to raise the bar on day two, delivering an electrifying afternoon of world-class sport set against the unmistakable backdrop of the atlantic ocean. With the energy building across the beachfront venue, sold-out crowds were treated to a thrilling €56,800 Barnes Prize CSI 5* (1.50m), where speed and nerves of steel defined the competition.
As the stakes intensified, it was Germany’s Sophie Hinners (GER) who rose to the occasion in spectacular style. Riding Iron Dames Combella, Hinners produced a flawless double clear, stopping the clock in a blistering 33.16 seconds in the jump-off. Demonstrating absolute control and confidence, she set an early target that ultimately proved untouchable, securing victory and the lions share of prize money.
Speaking after her win, Sophie said “I’m so pleased with Iron Dames Combella – she’s incredibly consistent at this level. It was a tough class today and we really had to fight for the win, but to come out on top here in such a great venue in Miami makes it even more special. She actually comes from the Sweetnam family, so it’s really nice to see Olivia Sweetnam finish third today as well.”
Close behind, Brazil’s Eduardo Pereira de Menezes (BRA) delivered a textbook performance with H5 Kontador VDM. Producing a smooth and efficient round, he crossed the finish line in 33.71 seconds to take a well-earned second place.
Continuing her strong run of form this week, young talent Olivia Sweetnam (USA) secured third place aboard Epic with a time of 34.25 seconds, further cementing her status as one of the rising stars of the sport.
The depth of competition was evident throughout the class, with Canada’s Erynn Ballard (CAN) finishing fourth, followed by Belgium’s Pieter Devos (BEL) in fifth. Switzerland’s Jane Richard took sixth, while British rider Jessica Mendoza (GBR) secured seventh opting for a slow and steady jump off to pick up one time fault. Abdel Said placed eighth, with Jack Whitaker (GBR) rounding out the top nine.Course designer, Peter Grant (CAN) set a technical and demanding track, with tight turns and delicate lines testing even the most experienced combinations. Only a select group progressed to the jump-off, where fractions of a second ultimately decided the podium.
