Gijón, Spain – August 29, 2025 – Rodrigo Almeida (POR) is unbeatable with his mare Karonia.L. The pairing was one of the favorites in the big CSI 4* test. It was the first jump-off test of the event, 1.55m high, qualifying for the Longines Ranking, and €105,500 euros in prize money. The Gijón Rural Foundation Trophy CSI 4* tiebreaker was the culmination of the day. Julien Epaillard (FRA), Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA), and Jur Vrieling (NED) have moved on to the second round, and the fans have been thrilled with their runs.
Only Almeida and Orsolini have been able to complete the second round without knocking down any bars. The duo formed by Julien Epaillard and Donatello d’Auge were than the Portuguese and his mare, but they had knocked down an obstacle so Almeida’s 43.50 was more than enough for the win.
