Saint-Lô, France – October 27, 2024 – The Jumping International de Saint-Lô CSI 4* & CSI 2* came to an end last Sunday and they saved the best for last, the €105,500 Grand Prix of the Department of La Manche CSI 4*. The 1.60m class was held under the format of two rounds meaning that the best twelve combinations from the first round would qualify for the the second round.
In the end, it was Rik Hemeryck (BEL) who rode towards victory counting on two brilliant performances and the right strategy with Inoui du Seigneur. Despite having received one time penalty in the first round, the Belgian rider was focused to improve his performance aboard the 2014 bay Belgian Sport Horse gelding (Jenson van’T Meulenhof x Aganix du Seigneur) was impecably even better, registering no penalties in 50.71 seconds for the victory.
After having claimed victory in the CSI 2* earlier on the same day, Pénélope Leprevost (FRA) and Ehning Flamingo (Cardento x Diamant de Semilly) gave the home crowd something to cheer about again, claiming silver honors with a combined score of two penalty-points which the duo had carried from the first round.
Lorenzo de Luca (ITA) and his Violino Il Palazetto (Verdi TN x Jasper) had one rail down (4 penalty-points) in the first round but that didn’t keeping them from finishing amongst the top three. They improved, keeping the same score while securing bronze honors against three other pairs that had the same total score, this due to their final time of 43.29 seconds.

1) Rik Hemeryck (BEL) & Inoui du Seigneur – 1 / 0 = 0 – 50.71
2) Pénélope Leprevost (FRA) & Ehning Flamingo – 2 / 0 = 2 – 48.19
3) Lorenzo de Luca (ITA) & Violino Il Palazetto – 4 / 0 = 4 – 43.29
