Philipp Weishaupt Charges to Speed Challenge Victory at Doha

Doha, Qatar – January 09, 2026 – Philipp Weishaupt (GER) stole the spotlight in the first important competition of Friday during the second week of H.H. The Father Amir’s Prix, a part of the 2026 Doha Equestrian Tour (DET). Riding Karaldo, the Germain claimed top honors in the €29,200 Speed Challenge CSI 3*, registering no penalties in 58.47 seconds aboard the 2015 bay Dutch Warmblood (KWPN) gelding (Harley x Chin Chin).

Faris Saad A H Al Qahtani (QAT) & Com du Rouet Z

A testament of the development of the sport in the region, the next two spots on the podium were conquered by rising talent from the Middle East. The host nation was well represent as Faris Saad A H Al Qahtani (QAT) guided Com du Rouet Z towards silver honors in 59.14 seconds.

Kamal Abdullah Bahamdan (KSA) & Kwikly

Kamal Abdullah Bahamdan (KSA) and Kwikly were just over two seconds off the winning mark, registering no penalties in 60.61 for bronze honors.

Running from 8-10 January, Tour 2 welcomes more than 240 riders, with overall series prize money exceeding €3.3 million, as the championship steps up with CSI5* and CSI3* sport alongside CSI1* and National Championship competition.
