Perfect Conditions for the Adelaide Equestrian Festival Finale

With blue skies and sunshine bringing in beginning to the TRM Horse Inspections, the Adelaide Equestrian Festival doors opened at 8am for the last day of competition.

As his day with the event came to an end after a successful four times, Guy McLean Horsemanship’s day performance was welcomed with group laughing, applause, and shouts.

The Heritage Grand Stand rapidly filled up with eager onlookers as the competition rolled around at 10am. SS Eight Count and Sam Woods dropped into fifth place after some soon road declines, while Olivia Barton and APH Sodoku demonstrated a flawless clear round to win the 2024 Racing SA CCI3*-L.

A superb line-up of riders who delivered an interesting midday session followed with the Horseland CCI4*-S. With a gasp-worthy performance from Shane Lowings, Bold Venture happily made a swift recovery following a blundered error that resulted from the Brand South Australia leap,

The Adelaide International CCI5* had a grueling end, with David Middleton winning the only apparent round of the course to finish in first place. In 2000, David and his then-horse, Willowbank Jack, next took first place at the South Australian event. In her first ever 5* begin with Hollyander HG, Olivia Barton placed next with a remarkable square, while New Zealand’s Donna Edwards-Smith placed next.
