Rouen, France – November 24, 2024 – The Schumacher name is one that is familiar to people when it comes to speed and wins in Formula 1. On Sunday, another Schumacher, that is Titouan Schumacher (FRA) and Illusion gave French fans what they were cheering for at the 2024 EquiSeine CSI 4* & CSI 2*, securing the win for the host nation in the highlight of the week, the €122,250 Grand Prix de la Region de Normandie CSI 4*.
The first round of the 1.55m class featured 50 combinations representing Belgium, Brazil, France, Great Britain, Ireland, Israel Latvia, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland and the United States with twelve of them advancing to the second round.
In the end, it was Schumacher who sped past the competition aboard the 2013 bay Dutch Warmblood gelding (Balou du Rouet x Glennridge), doing so flawlessly in 41.17 seconds.
The crowd were even happier since the winners were closely followed by another “Tricolor” pair: Cedric Hurel (FRA) & Fantasio de Floreval. The duo were right on the heels of the winning mark, finishing under two-tenths of a second behind, timed in 41.34 seconds.
Michael Greve (NED) and Denver dashed for the cash too and their clean second effort in 42.31 seconds was not in vain, securing them bronze honors.
