Riding My Clementine, Nina Mallevaey (FRA) dominated a competitive jump-off made up of eight couples. She won ahead of Millie Allen (GBR) & Viarca PS and Matthew Sampson (GBR) & Médoc de Toxandria, offering the public a sporting moment of rare intensity.

Already crowned French Pro Elite champion two weeks ago, world number 1 U-25 and already victorious several times in 1.45m and 1.50m classes this season, Nina confirms her meteoric rise on the international scene. Her victory is all the more significant as she beat riders like Karl Cook (USA), Harry Charles (GBR), Gilles Thomas (BEL) and Cian O’Connor (IRL), all credited with solid performances but insufficient to dethrone the rider from the north of France.

“My mare is naturally fast, but it is above all the quality of our understanding today which made the difference. Winning here, at home in Hauts-de-France, against such a field, is extremely strong,” she confided.
