Monday News & Notes from The Event at TerraNova

Record-breaking news from the Maryland 5 Star over the past weekend! For the first time in history, a Swiss rider has won a CCI5* on American soil! Felix Vogg will fly home with quite the big check for his efforts aboard Cartania. The pair finished the event with a score of 28.7 after adding just a *touch* of time faults to their dressage score. Team EN was on-site in Elkton, Maryland, bringing you all of the coverage right from the grounds. You can catch up on the excitement of a 5* weekend by reading our coverage here.

Tom McEwen and Brookfield Danny de Muze, owned by Chloé Perry, John Perry and Alison Swinburn, have won the 7-year-old FEI World Breeding Eventing Championships at Mondial du Lion in Le Lion d’Angers over the weekend. He quite nearly finished on his dressage score, but did add a cross country time penalty to his dressage score. The cross country phase proved to be extremely influential, as well as a bit terrifying. The course was designed by Pierre Michelet and, according to British Eventing, was described by Tom as having “caused a few problems.” Read more coverage from British Eventing here.

Meet the dressage halflinger who spends his winters skijoring, and dodging snowmobiles in the woods of Idaho. Anika Sadler and Roush traveled to Oregon to compete in the GAIG/USDF Region 6 Championships, where they won the adult amateur first level freestyle championship with a score of 66.87 percent. Maybe we should add skijoring to our event horses fitness programs. Read more about Anika and Roush here.
