Several scholarship opportunities — for Amateur riders, FEI riders, and Junior riders — are currently accepting applications through February 20, thanks to the support of the Maryland International Equestrian Foundation (MIEF) and scholarship sponsors Dale Clabaugh – State Farm Agent and Dover Saddlery.

New for this year: Unused scholarship funds remaining at the end of the award period may be allocated to cover the entry fee for a subsequent horse trial in Maryland.

Here’s the scoop on each scholarship:

MIEF Adult Rider Scholarship – Sponsored by Dale Clabaugh – State Farm Agent – $1,000

The MIEF Adult Amateur Scholarship is designed to support adult riders who are balancing careers, family, and other responsibilities while pursuing their eventing goals. Recipients will receive a $1,000 credit to use toward entries at horse trials and clinics at Loch Moy Farm over the next year. This scholarship helps adult riders continue their journey in their passion for the sport and make the most of every riding opportunity. Scholarship funds may be used towards entry fees for all horse trials held at Loch Moy Farm, Clinics, Twilight Eventing, Pick Your Test/Blue Ribbon Jumper Rounds, and Cross Derbies.

MIEF Junior Rider Scholarship – Sponsored by Dover Saddlery – $500

The MIEF Junior Rider Scholarships are created to support young riders from a variety of backgrounds who are building their equestrian skills at the grassroots level. Scholarship recipients will receive a $500 credit to use for Highland Series Horse Trials, Twilight Events, Pick Your Time/Test Dressage & horse, or Jump Round show entries and clinics at Loch Moy Farm over the next year.

MIEF FEI Rider Scholarship – $1,000

The Maryland International Equestrian Foundation (MIEF) will award four $1,000 equestrian scholarships to North American based riders wanting to compete at the 1*, 2*, 3* or 4* levels at the June Maryland International Horse Trials.

The scholarship funds will used entry fees, stabling, travel costs, and other associated competition expenses up to $1,000.
