Basel, Switzerland – January 11, 2025 – Out of this world! Vitiki continues to add more chapters to his amazing story in the noble sport, one of the most incredible recoveries and on top of that, a return marked by many victories. Once again, propelling Yuri Mansur (BRA) to victory, this time in the €110,000 Championat City of Basel for the Golden Drum CSI 5*-W on Saturday at the 2025 Longines CHI Classics CSI 5*-W.
Only four out of the forty-seven combinations that took part in the first round of the 1.55m challenge managed to advance to the tiebreaker. The Brazilian and the 17-year-old Hanoverian gelding (Valentino x For Expo) were supremed after delivering the fastest jump-off run, yet still leaving all the poles up before crossing the finish line in 36.01 seconds.
Harrie Smolders (NED) and Kaspar R were almost six-tenths slower for reserve honors while Pieter Devos (BEL) and Primo DV powered towards third place in 37.64 seconds.
