Michael Pender & HHS Vancouver Keep their Winning Streak in the Caser Grupo Helvetia Trophy at Casas Novas

Madrid, Spain – December 06, 2024 – The crowd at the Casas Novas Equestrian Center had the opportunity to witness the first classes of the highest category of this prestigious International Jumping Contest, which is part of the World Cup, on the afternoon of this Friday, December 6.

The 5* category began at 6:15 PM with the €28,950 Caser Grupo Helvetia Trophy CSI 5*-W, at heights of 1.45m. A total of 57 combinations competed on the Casas Novas indoor arena, including some of the best riders of the moment.

In this opening class, Irish rider Michael Pender (IRL), second in the FEI U25 ranking, achieved the victory with a incredible time of 58.82 seconds with his horse, HHS Vancouver.

The second place went to a local rider, the Spanish Jesús Garmendia (ESP), who got a time of 60.44 seconds after a strong performance with Valut 2.

The podium was completed by Swiss rider Edouard Schmitz (SUI), a 25-year-old equestrian talent who finished just 0.10 seconds behind the runner-up, achieving a time of 60.54 seconds with Abdul-Jabbar du Gibet.
