Matthew Sampson Supreme in Two-Phase Challenge CSIO 5* at St. Gallen

St Gallen, Switzerland – May 29, 2025 – Matthew Sampson (GBR) and Pretty Pi’que de Luxe powered past the competition on opening day of the 2025 Longines CSIO 5* of St. Gallen, claiming victory in the first CSIO 5* class of the day, the €15,900 CSIO Club Prize.

Going up against 80 other combinations in the 1.45m two-phase challenge, Sampson was supreme aboard the 9-year-old bay Danish Warmblood (Party Dance x Viegaard’s Come Back II), completing the second section of the course in 33.55 seconds for the victory.

Denis Lynch (IRL) and King Blue were just five-hundredths of a second off the winning mark, earning reserve honors while Robin Muhr (ISR) and Foud’Joie de Stel completed the top three in 34.63 seconds.
