Falsterbo, Sweden – July 11, 2026 – A dramatic jump-off between three riders decided the 2026 Falsterbo Derby CSIO 5*, with Switzerland’s Martin Fuchs (SUI) defeating Sweden’s Peder Fredricson (SWE) by just 95 hundredths of a second. The victory earns Fuchs a place among the prestigious group of Falsterbo Derby winners.

This year’s Falsterbo Derby delivered a thrilling conclusion as Martin Fuchs (SUI) claimed victory following a dramatic jump-off against Peder Fredricson (SWE) and Belgium’s Abdel Saïd (BEL).

A total of 20 combinations lined up for the start of Falsterbo Horse Show’s most iconic class. Several past Derby winners were in the field vying for another title, and the demanding course once again demonstrated why the Falsterbo Derby is regarded as one of international show jumping’s most prestigious and highly esteemed competitions.

Crowd favorite Peder Fredricson (SWE) was the first to ride a clear initial round, much to the delight of the Swedish audience. He was followed by Abdel Saïd (BEL), who also rode clear and secured a spot in the jump-off. Martin Fuchs (SUI) was the last to go in the initial round; he too delivered a clear ride, ensuring a three-way battle for the win.

“Peder put us under pressure with his fast round. I knew I had to be quick, but my horse is naturally fast, and I had a bit of luck in the jump-off. It’s the first time I’ve won this historic derby. Entering the ring as the last rider and beating ‘the Swedish hero’ was a special moment,” said Martin Fuchs (SUI) after the class.

The victory means Martin Fuchs (SUI) will now have his name engraved on the prestigious Falsterbo Derby trophy. He also joins the exclusive group of riders who have won the Agria Falsterbo Nations Cup, the Falsterbo Grand Prix, and the Falsterbo Derby at one of equestrian sport’s most iconic venues.
