Ocala, United States – July 15, 2026 – Portugal’s Luis Sabino Gonçalves (POR) was supreme in the $32,000 UF Health Speed CSI 3* – 1.45m during the sixth week of the World Equestrian Center (WEC) – Ocala Summer Series, producing the fastest fault-free performance aboard Gallaxia de Ferval Z. The pair stopped the clock in 64.96 seconds to secure victory in the international speed class at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala, Florida.

The winning mount, Gallaxia de Ferval Z, is a promising 9-year-old Zangersheide mare by George out of Nabab de Rêve. Demonstrating both scope and speed, the mare delivered a polished performance over the 1.45m track, combining careful jumping with efficient turns to finish more than a second ahead of the rest of the field.

American rider Wilton Porter (USA) guided Sternmarke 3 to second place after also leaving every rail in place. Their clear round in 66.33 seconds kept the pressure on the eventual winners but ultimately fell just short of Gonçalves’ winning pace.

Fellow American Aaron Vale (USA) rounded out the podium with Helios du Moulin, crossing the timers in 68.09 seconds for another fault-free effort.
Speed classes reward riders who can balance precision with pace, and the competition delivered exactly that. With all three podium finishers producing clear rounds, the final standings were determined entirely by time, highlighting the importance of smooth, forward riding and economical track management throughout the course.
The result marks another international victory for Luis Sabino Gonçalves and underscores the exciting potential of Gallaxia de Ferval Z as the talented young mare continues to develop at the CSI 3* level. Their winning performance provided a fitting highlight of the sixth week of the WEC – Ocala Summer Series and set a high standard in one of the week’s featured speed competitions.
