Laura Collett and London 52 Delight Crowds with 4* Title at Burnham Market

Laura Collett and her own, Karen Bartlett and Keith Scott’s London 52, won the FEI Barefoot Retreats Burnham Market International Horse Trials CCI-S 4* name this year. The outcome was well-liked by the crowds, who had gathered to cheer up some great sport and support the celebration of 25 years of eventing in this beautiful region of north Norfolk.

This name, along with three 5* titles, was added to Laura and London 52’s impressive resume at Burnham Market, which included the Olympic team winning at the Tokyo Olympics and three other amazing accomplishments. With a remarkable dressage report of 19, they held on to the invincible throughout the trip at Burnham Market. 8 on Saturday afternoon and without any additional penalties for the leaping aspects.

“Absolutely delighted with London 52 in all three phases, ” said Laura of their performance. “ He’s been a full professional. I had a fantastic trip while he was on boat control around the cross-country. I have to make sure I do n’t ruin his horse for him because I have a very, very lucky horse like him. ”

Oliver Townend, a former champion of Tokyo and the first silver medalist, was one of those leading the charge to try to advance over Laura. With 15 4* trophies at Burnham Market to his name, he was keen to make it a wonderful 16 but, on this occasion, had to settle for second with Paul and Diana Ridgeon’s Cooley Rosalent. The couple made the necessary effort to achieve a 23 on the dressage test. 4. On a report of 26, Kitty King and Vendredi Biats finished in the top three overall for Britain. 1.

This year’s CCI-S 3* category belonged to New Zealand’s Clarke Johnstone, who not only took the win with his own and the Johnstone home ’s Domasco but finished with four horses inside the top 7 of a pretty competitive field.

“ I had a very good time today, ” said Clarke. “It’s been a busy day, but my horses all went really well – four double clears, which does n’t happen terribly often. I was able to actually let them work because they all adored the program and the challenging ground conditions. ”

“I’m really delighted with him, ” he added of the win, Domasco. He is already fairly well-versed at this level and about to move up to 4*, but the quality of the field and the horses were all so nice that I could n’t think of anything he could have done much better for me over the weekend. I could n’t be happier after seeing him and the other horses in a stunning round. ”

The top three in the three-star competition came in extremely near, with Clarke and Domasco coming in with a 27-point effort. On a report of 27, Bobby Upton and Its Cooley Time. 4 in minute; and another of Clarke’s trips, Menlo Park only 0. Next place with a rating of 27 was one behind. 5.

The culmination of a fantastic trip of activity, which also included a packed schedule of international competitions, was the foreign competition. Fabulous weather, great going, very audiences and some stand-out shows seem a flattering way to mark 25 years of eventing on the site.

The eventing family is also welcome at Burnham Market, and Alec and Emily Lochore, who founded them in 1999, are thrilled to have them up. If you had asked me how the occasion may develop over the following years, I would not have anticipated that 25 years later we do have the opportunity to watch the world’s wealthy horses and riders gallop around this picturesque region of North West Norfolk at our occasion, said Alec.
