Fontainebleau, France – April 26, 2025 – A French win in the €60,000 Masters Prize CSI 5* of the French Equitation Federation (FFE), this Saturday in Fontainebleau! A starting line-up of 30 riders, with 13 nations represented. Some of the sport’s great names and excitement right to the end in the Princes arena. After a closely contested first round, only the top 12 riders returned to the arena for the jump-off; while all of them rode clear rounds, some exceeded the time limit ever so slightly.

In the second round, the riders who had made it through started in the reverse order of the rankings from the first round. The Belgian rider Nathan Budd (BEL) on Touardo Blue Z was the first to complete a double clear round in a time of 54.17s, forcing those after him to go for a perfect performance.

Christian Ahlmann (GER) & D’Aganix 2000 Z

Roger-Yves Bost (FRA) rose to the challenge on Prins van’t Eigenlo and took the provisional first place by shaving almost 4 seconds off the Belgian’s time. But it was a very temporary situation, since the German rider Christian Ahlmann (GER) pushed him off the top spot almost immediately, with D’Aganix 2000 Z (48.62sec). Extremely tight corners, short distances… The riders had to explore every possible option to try and improve on the German rider’s time.

It was a difficult exercise, which the Frenchman Julien Anquetin (FRA) managed to solve with Fulldollar de Raygade (47.40sec).

Marc Dilasser (FRA) & Arioto du Gevres

The last rider out in the jump-off was Marc Dilasser (FRA) on Arioto du Gevres, who kept people on the edge of their seats right to end, finally taking a fine second place in 47.70 seconds.

Winner’s Circle – Julien Anquetin (FRA)

“It’s really great, because Fulldollar de Raygade will be jumping in the Grand Prix tomorrow. So, I had to put in place a strategy and not go too easy. I kept the turns as short as possible. I managed to do seven short strides heading into the 3rd obstacle in the second round, and after that, everything went really smoothly. I even allowed myself to pull her back into order a bit for the last jump. I took a risk because I knew Marc Dilasser was riding after me, but I had to make a choice because I still have to ride in the Grand Prix with her tomorrow. From the outset, we had decided to have her jump on all three days. That is what suits her best; the more she jumps, the better she is. She will be continuing her season in Madrid, and after that, I hope to take her to the Nations Cup, but that’s not for me to decide.”

Final Results – €60,000 Masters Prize FFE CSI 5*

2) Marc Dilasser (FRA) & Arioto du Gevres – 0 / 0 – 47.70
