Barcelona, Spain – October 01, 2026 – Jessica Mendoza (GBR) and In the Air came out on top in a thrilling €28,200 Estrella Damm Trophy CSIO 5* at the Real Club de Polo de Barcelona, during the opening day of the CSIO Barcelona, event highlighted by the Longines League of Nations Final CSIO 5*. Flying the flag for Great Britain, Mendoza produced a faultless performance aboard the 13-year-old Dutch Warmblood mare In the Air (Air Jordan x Indoctro), stopping the clock at 74.24 seconds to take the victory.

Just 0.80 seconds separated Mendoza from Brazil’s João Victor Castro (BRA), who also kept all the poles standing with Sagan Z to finish second in 75.04 seconds.

Laura Kraut (USA) completed the podium for the United States with Carquilara PS, adding another clear round to a fiercely contested top three. With all three combinations finishing on zero faults, the class was decided purely on the clock, making every fraction of a second count in Barcelona.

For Mendoza, the win represents a standout result on the international stage and a rewarding performance with In the Air, whose experience and careful footwork proved decisive in the speed battle. The British combination showed exactly what was required to master the challenge at the Real Club de Polo de Barcelona, securing the Estrella Damm Trophy in style as the Longines League of Nations Final brought the world’s top showjumpers together in Spain.
