Rabat, Morocco – October 10 – The third day of competition at the Rabat leg of the Morocco Royal Tour was highlighted by a victory for France’s Jeanne Sadran (FRA) aboard Funky Boy des Rêves in the Ministère de L’Intérieur Grand Prix CSI 2*.
The highlight of the day and the concluding class of the CSI 2* at the Rabat leg, the 1.45m Grand Prix added another victory to French rider Jeanne Sadran’s (FRA) impressive record. Aboard Funky Boy des Rêves, the Frenchwoman was the last to go in the 14-horse jump-off and delivered an unbeatable performance, stopping the clock at 35.89 seconds.

“I know my horse is naturally quick across the ground, which is a real advantage in jump-offs,” said Sadran after the prize-giving ceremony. “I think the key was getting the right jumps at the right moments. At fence three, I managed to make a fairly tight turn, which allowed me to take the first distance to fence 14, then turn tightly again into the double, knowing that he has enough scope not to need much momentum to clear it. After that, I realised I was ahead on time, so I decided to go all out, and he rose to the occasion. I owe him so much. Funky is a fantastic horse with plenty of blood and energy that you have to know how to channel. He always wants to please his rider, and it’s a real joy to have him as a partner. The Morocco Royal Tour is a circuit I really enjoy. It comes at a time of year when we have slightly fewer competitions. We are always given such a warm welcome, and honestly, the events here have nothing to envy those in Europe. I’ll be competing in El Jadida next week, which is perfect timing to prepare for the upcoming indoor season. After that, I’d like to focus on the World Cup circuit and hopefully qualify for another Final.”

Having held the lead until the final rider entered the arena, Saudi Arabia’s Abdullah Alsharbatly (KSA) ultimately had to settle for second place aboard Kanturo BH, with a time of 36.31 seconds.
Colombia’s Santiago Diaz Ortega (COL), who has been in excellent form since the start of the weekend, completed the podium in third place aboard Maximus Quantum Leap (36.64 seconds).
