It’s time to kick off with our penultimate CCI4*-L of the U.S. season, taking place this week at Galway Downs in Temecula, CA. The Eventing Championships at Galway Downs also serve as Area VI Championships, so we’ve got plenty of action and you’ll be able to follow along live for all FEI divisions via USEF Network on ClipMyHorse.TV.
We’ll focus on the 4*-L division for the schedule below, but Galway Downs is hosting CCI1*-L through CCI3*-L as well, and you can see the full live stream schedule here.
Thursday, October 30
2:20 p.m. ET / 11:20 a.m. PT: CCI4*-L Dressage
Friday, October 31
1:20 p.m. ET / 10:20 a.m. PT: CCI4*-L Cross Country
Saturday, November 1
7:00 p.m. ET / 4:00 p.m. PT: CCI4*-L Show Jumping
We’ll see just five horses in the 4*-L division, with many West coast horses either already done with their seasons or coming back from one setback or another. It’s an exciting one, nonetheless, with some exciting rising talent in both horse and human form featuring on the list.

We’ve got Tamie Smith with one of her newer rides, Lillet 3, who will be a hot favorite to capture the win after doing so in her first 4*-L at Rebecca Farm this summer. This is a horse owned by Molly Duda, who trains with Tamie and is a star in the making in her own right, bringing forward both the experienced Disco Traveler as well as Carlingfords Hes a Clover, a 13-year-old who will be doing his first 4*-L this weekend.

We’ll also see Karen O’Neal and Clooney 14, who’ve also enjoyed some success at the Advanced and 4* level and will be looking to build off the two 4*-Ls they’ve done to this point, as well as Bay Area-based Megan McIver, who brings forward Igor B for his first 4*-L; he was second in the 3*-L here at Galway Downs last year.
