Harrie Smolders Leaves His Mark Again in the €75,000 AB Yachsts Small Grand Prix CSI 5* 

Lido di Camaiore, Italy – May 09, 2026 – As in 2025, the winner of the 2026 Small Grand Prix CSI 5*, presented by AB Yachts was the Dutch champion, Harrie Smolders (NED), who is one of the most respected riders in Versilia. Smolders lived up to his reputation, taking victory aboard the grey Devino vd Weretherbach Z with three clear rounds and a jump-off time of 30.46 seconds.

At the end of the first two rounds, four pairs advanced to the final round. Alongside Smolders, the outsider, Brazilian rider João Victor Castro Aguiar Gomes de Lima (BRA) had no faults aboard Obama de La Liniere (0/0–0; 31.77). 

Kim Emmen (NED) from the Netherlands was also clear with Hellix du Seigneur (0/0–0; 33.23).

Italian rider Roberto Previtali (ITA), who will be competing with Quirinus 27 in tomorrow’s Grand Prix Giorgio Armani presented by Longines, did not participate in the jump-off.

LVHSGA, A Top-Level Event

The Longines Versilia Horse Show presented by Giorgio Armani is organized by Italian Champions Tour in partnership with the Italian Equestrian Sports Federation, Veronafiere, and Sport e Salute, with the contribution of the Minister for Sport and Youth, the support of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty, and Forestry, and the patronage of the Province of Lucca and the Municipality of Camaiore. This year, the LVHSGA has been awarded an additional star, becoming a 5-star event, the highest achievable, thus deservingly joining the elite of world show jumping. This is also thanks to the support of institutions and two highly appealing title sponsors, Longines and Giorgio Armani, along with other prestigious brands. Radio Monte Carlo is the event’s official radio station, and Rai Sport is the main media partner.
