Gridlocked with Greatness: €1.5 Million Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix Sparks Monaco Showdown

Monte Carlo, Monaco – July 02, 2025 –The Longines Global Champions Tour roars into Monte Carlo from 4-6 July 2025 for the eighth stage of the season, where horsepower meets high society in a dazzling showdown like no other. Nestled in the very heart of the Formula 1 pit lane, the LGCT of Monaco delivers the ultimate test of precision, speed, and control, with €1.5 million on the line in the prestigious Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix du Prince de Monaco.

Like Formula 1’s most iconic street circuit, this leg of the LGCT calendar is fast, unforgiving, and wildly glamorous. Against the backdrop of luxury yachts, steep city streets, and the Mediterranean shimmer, the tightest arena on tour demands split-second decisions and championship nerve.

As the rider list is revealed, tension builds – this is more than a jump-off, it’s a global grid of elite athletes ready to go full throttle.

With 7 out of the top 10 in the current LGCT Championship standings present all is to play for… Leading the 2025 Championship charge is Gilles Thomas, fresh from his LGCT Grand Prix of Paris win. Hot on his heels is Simon Delestre (FRA), the French contender determined to apply pressure and seize his first Monaco crown. While Andreas Schou (DEN), Max Kühner (AUT), Jérôme Guery (BEL), Katrin Eckermann (GER) and Nadja Peter Steiner (SUI) will all be aiming to jump up the leader board with the big points haul.

Having been on the calendar since the very start in 2006, a roll call of past LGCT Grand Prix winners returns for another shot at victory: Ines Joly (2024), Julien Epaillard (2023), Max Kuhner (2022), Maikel van der Vleuten (2019) and Emanuele Gaudiano (2016) all bring proven Monaco track records, each gunning for another career-defining moment in the Port d’Hercule.

This stage is a who’s who of the sport. Former LGCT Champions Edwina Tops-Alexander and Harrie Smolders are back in the mix, poised to climb the standings. Global superstars including John Whitaker (GBR), Victor Bettendorf (LUX), Janne Friederike Meyer Zimmermann (GER), and Henrik von Eckermann (SWE), Lorenzo de Luca (ITA), Pieter Devos (BEL), Olivier Philippaerts (BEL) and Marco Kutscher (GER) round out a truly stacked field.
