After Leslie Law’s recent promotion to the USEF Eventing High Performance Manager and Team USA Chef d’Equipe, US Equestrian is now starting their search for a candidate to fill his previous role as the USEF Eventing Program Development Coach.
About the Role
The new coach will work closely with Leslie and High Performance Advisor Karyn Shuter as they continue to review and refine the direction of the USEF Eventing Development and Development 25 programs. They will also provide trusted leadership to the selected developing athletes individually — as well as their personal teams and horse owners — to identify areas for improvement within their programs and build a depth of talent. The Development Coach role will provide guidance, coaching, and support, both in training sessions and at competitions, and work to identify key performance indicators for these participants to ensure continued progress and momentum within US Eventing.
Overall, the Development Programs work to identify and support athletes with the talent and ability to represent the US at future international competitions. Learn more about the USEF Eventing Pathway Programs [here].
About the Candidate
US Equestrian’s ideal candidate will have a track record of competitive success as well as depth of experience with program and athlete development. The role will require excellent communication skills, including the ability to engage and inspire a diverse set of athletes and stakeholders, and will be able to engender trust, competence, and confidence while distilling the complex down to understandable terms.
