San Miguel de Allende, Mexico – October 11, 2025 – Excitement reached its peak on Saturday in the second leg of the Mexico Fall Tour at Otomí Club Hípico. Twenty-one combinations representing Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ireland, Latvia, and the host nation Mexico contested Gérard Lachat’s (SUI) first round course in pursuit of the jackpot of the f the USD $340,000 GNP Seguros Grand Prix CSI 5*.

The 1.60m challenge proved to be a challenging one, with only two combinations advancing to the tiebreaker. To the delight of the home crowd and attendees of the VIP area, Federico Fernandez (MEX) and Romeo represented the hopes of the host nation while Kristaps Neretnieks (LAT) and Valour hoped to spoil their victory parade on home soil.

Fernandez flew flawlessly over all the 1.60m obstacles and around the course aboard the 14-year-old grey Selle Français stallion (Lando x Cheers Cassini) while Neretnieks (LAT) and the 15-year-old bay Westphalian gelding (Verdi TN x Calido I) retired, thus handing the win to the Mexican.

The host nation bookended the podium as Alejandro Mills (MEX) and Bretzel du Marais were the fastest ones who had four penalty-points in the first round, securing bronze honors in 76.45 seconds.
