Oliva Nova, Spain – March 01, 2026 – Spring MET II 2026 in Oliva Nova, Spain, concluded on Sunday with the €57,000 CHG – Construcciones Hispano Germanas Grand Prix CSI 3* – 1.50m
Only five horse-and-rider combinations from the 44 at start cleared the first-round track set by Louis Konickx (NED). After an exciting jump-off of five, Faye Schoch (SUI) and the 11-year-old gelding Cornetto DB Z (Cornet Obolensky x Inshallah de Muze) took the win as the only double clear of the competition.
“I wasn’t expecting any of this,” the happy winner said afterwards. “Cornetto jumped absolutely fantastic. When I walked the course, I thought it was quite big, but he jumped so good, he was fighting for me, he was great. I was here last week in the Grand Prix and we didn’t have the best jump-off, so today I really just wanted to go in and try to make it better. I’m not the fastest rider, and I just wanted to have a nice round. I wanted to do better than last week, and it worked out well. The luck was on our side.”
“He is 11 now, and I bought him when he was four,” Faye said about Cornetto. “I have taken my time with him and it’s only now that we’re starting to jump bigger. I don’t have the ambition to go fast and to jump big. I just really took my time step by step with him and I just absolutely love him now.”
“I always love coming to Oliva,” Faye said about the venue. “It’s an amazing place. I’ve been here so many times already, I think I’ve done all the tours, I’ve been through all of them – and every tour is special, and really well organized. The venue is so clean and nice, with such nice people – we always feel welcome.”
Noora Von Bülow (GBR) and Primavera (Mylord Carthago x Cornet Obolensky) had to settle for the second place with one down in a time of 41.39 seconds.
Olivia Sponer (GBR) and Bingo du Chateau (Quaprice Bois Margot x Royal Feu) followed in third, also carrying four penalties. Andreas Schou (DEN) and Riverdale van’T Poezelhof (Thunder van de Zuuthoeve x Iceberg ST) finished fourth and Skye Higgin (GBR) aboard Fly For You (Quaprice Bois Margot x L’Arc de Triomphe) fifth.
Spring MET 2026 continues on March 10 with the third part of the tour, followed by Spring MET IV in April.
