Why You Simply Can’t Miss this World-Class Experience
Wolverten, Brussels, Belgium – August 25, 2025 – From 27 to 31 August 2025, Wolvertem takes centre stage in the world of international showjumping. For five unforgettable days, the Brussels Stephex Masters bring toplevel show jumping together with elegant entertainment and fine dining, creating an atmosphere unlike any other. From the very beginning, the ambition was clear: to create an event without equal, both on a sporting and an economic level. Today, this celebration of equestrian sport welcomes tens of thousands of visitors from across the globe every year, and admission remains completely free.
A True Powerhouse of Sport & Economy
The Brussels Stephex Masters are not only a highlight of the sporting and lifestyle calendar, but also a logistical and economic powerhouse that sets Wolvertem and the surrounding region buzzing. Last year, the event welcomed more than 40,000 visitors, including 9,500 VIPs — the equivalent of filling the Antwerp Sportpaleis twice over with fans. Some come to enjoy the sport for free, others choose a VIP experience combining competition, entertainment, atmosphere and gastronomy.
The organization behind it is just as impressive:
- 344 riders and 887 horses from more than 46 countries compete.
- Building the grounds takes nearly two months, with 55 trucks bringing everything needed to create over 200-meters of arena perimeter.
- Each year, more than 35 key suppliers are involved, 90–95% of them Belgian, along with around 20 local partners.
- Around 500 people work on-site every day, including 120 catering staff in the central VIP area.
- The event also creates 60 temporary jobs, while local groups such as the Merchtem Scouts contribute, for example by helping to guide horses safely across the grounds.
- With a budget of €5.2 million and prize money of €1.1 million, the Brussels Stephex Masters ranks among themost prestigious worldwide.
With figures like these, comparisons with Europe’s biggest music festivals are no exaggeration. The Brussels Stephex Masters not only put Belgium firmly on the map of world show jumping, they also give a major boost to the local economy and community.
