Oliva Nova, Spain – December 06, 2025 – One of the powerhouses of the noble sport, Belgium was back on top on Saturday at the Mediterranean Equestrian Tour CSI 2*. Andres Vereecke (BEL) was victorious in the €29,000 CHG – Construcciones Hispano Germanas CSI 3* aboard Halima van het Bonte Hof Z.
The 1.45m jump-off challenge was contested by 80 combinations in the first round but only nine out of the ten who were clean took part in the tiebreaker. In the end, the Belgian and the 2013 chestnut Zangersheide mare (Hos d’O x Heartbreaker) were flawless and very fast, registering the time of 37.17 seconds which could not be matched.
Johnny Pals (NED) and Zarkava Hero Z were right on their heels, finishing second less than three-tenths of a second behind while Laura Renwick (GBR) and Marseille completed the top three in 37.97 seconds.
