Calgary, Canada – September 11, 2026 – The $108,695 Tourmaline Oil Cup CSIO 5* – 1.60m opened the competition for the TELUS Evening of the Horse, bringing 32 horse-and-rider combinations onto the iconic International Ring.
FEI Course Designer Leopoldo Palacios (VEN) set a challenging track featuring 13 obstacles and 16 jumping efforts, with athletes required to complete the first round within the time allowed of 81 seconds.
The competition also represented the final opportunity for individual athletes not competing as members of a BMO Nations’ Cup team to qualify for Sunday’s CPKC ‘International’, presented by Rolex.
Just five combinations successfully navigated the first round without fault to advance to the jump-off. Germany’s André Thieme and DSP Chakaria produced the fastest clear round of the final, stopping the clock in 43.35 seconds to claim the Tourmaline Oil Cup.
