San Miguel de Allende, Mexico – March 01, 2025 – A Mexican shootout! Three Mexican riders battled it out for victory in the MXN $1,455,000 GNP Seguros Grand Prix CSI 2* last Saturday at Otomí Club Hípico / Otomí Residencial Hípico. Andres Azcarraga (MEX) pulled all the stops for victory in the feature class of the week there, nipping two of his countrymen.
Teamed up wiht DMS Enkidu, a 14-year-old grey Selle Français stallion (Ensor VDH Pleville x Quidam de Revel), Azacarraga pulled out all the aces up his sleeve, overcoming 5 other riders in the jump-off of the 1.45m contest, crossing the timers in 39.83 seconds.
Almost déjà vu! After winning the MXN $1,455,000 GNP Seguros Grand Prix CSI 2* with Mamacita the previous week, Nicolas Pizarro (MEX) came close to scoring back-to-back victories. This time he rode Farino du Guinefort, flying towards second place after two faul-free performances and the final time of 40.08 seconds.
A star on the rise of the noble sport in Mexico, Ivanna Gandara Robinson Bours (MEX) and HSB Caracola conquered bronze honors. The duo matched the clean scorecard of the previous too, securing the third spot on the podium in 45.28 seconds.
