A “Swifty” Win by Niam McEvoy to in the $65,000 Akerman Grand Prix at TerraNova Equestrian Center

Sarasota, Florida, United States – March 08, 2025 – The fourth week of the TerraNova Winter Series reached its climax last Saturday with the running of the $65,000 Akerman Grand Prix CSI 2* at the TerraNova Equestrian Center. Adding another victory to her stellar season competing in winter circuits in Florida, Niamh McEvoy (IRL) guided BP Swifty to their maiden FEI-level grand prix victory.

Thirty-seven combinations went head-to-head in the first round of the 1.45m challenge but it was the Irish rider and 12-year-old Irish Sport Horse mare (Amaretto Darco) who came out on top, overcoming 10 other combinations in the tiebreaker by completing the course in flawless fashion and in 35.40 seconds.

Mia Bagnato (USA) & Cordiamo

The Irish rider saw two young Americans next to her on the podium. Mia Bagnato (USA) continued to make noise in Florida too, earning silver honors with Cordiamo by less than two-tenths of a second.

Charlotte Jacobs (USA) & Korbach van de Renger

Charlotte Jacobs (USA) and Korbach van de Renger rounded out the top three, registering no penalties too, charging across the final timers in 36.26 seconds.
