Jordan Coyle Cruises to $30,000 Desert International Horse Park Welcome Win at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show

Harrisburg, United States – October 16, 2026 – It came down to just hundredths of a second, but it was Ireland’s Jordan Coyle (IRL) who rode away with the win in the $30,000 Desert International Horse Park Welcome – 1.40m on Thursday, October 15, at the 80th Pennsylvania National Horse Show.

Coyle and Cordiamo were one of 33 entries to take on the opening track designed by Bernardo Costa Cabral (POR) and set in the Harrisburg Coliseum at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Following the first round, Coyle and Cordiamo were then one of eight entries to return for the jump-off.

As the second pair to contest the short course, Coyle laid down a time to beat of 30.424 seconds. The very next rider in the ring, however, would give Coyle a real run for his money. As one of the PNHS’ winningest riders, it was Laura Chapot (USA) who immediately followed Coyle and ultimately came the closest to catching him. With C&C Willow, owned by Mary Chapot, Laura Chapot stopped the clock in 30.481 seconds for the eventual second place finish. Rounding out the top three on a time of 32.778 seconds were Lizzy Traband (USA) and Rokeechobee STB, owned by Talent Ring Group.

Jordan Coyle (IRL) & Cordiamo

“[The PNHS] is a great place to finish up for the year, so I am delighted to win,” said Coyle, who brought a full string of horses to Harrisburg in only his second year attending the show. “We grew up in Ireland with a lot of indoor shows, so it’s quite normal for us to come indoors. We don’t get so many indoor shows here [in America], but I think it’s nice for sure.”

Coyle has been competing Cordiamo, owned by Elan Farm, since 2023, and he has been carefully developing the 10-year-old Oldenburg gelding throughout that time.

“He’s very fast; he’s always been very fast,” explained Coyle. “I’ve actually been trying not to go fast on him. I would like to leave that until the end. We’re kind of hoping to end up at some big grand prix with this horse, so we’re trying to just produce him along a little bit. He’s had to step up twice this year. He did it quite well, but I think a little bit more time, he’ll do it very well.”
