Oliva Nova, Spain – January 24, 2026 – A duel between two Irishman marked the feature class on Saturday at the Mediterranean Equestrian Tour (MET). It came down to Niall Talbot (IRL) and Eoin McMahon (IRL) and it was Nial who turned on the nitro aboard Charming Dream Z to claim the €30,200 CHG – Construcciones Hispano Germanas Trophy CSI 3*.
After the first round, it seemed that France was in the hotseat for the win, having qualified three of the nine combinations that took part in the jump-off of the 1.45m contest. Despite being in disadvantage, the two Irish pairs proved that they would fight for the top spot. Talbot (IRL) and the 2015 bay Zangersheide stallion (Carrera VDL x Cagliostro 161) laid down the gauntlet, securing the win in 36.53 seconds.
McMahon (IRL) made things interesting on Disney Z, finishing only eighteen-hundredths of a second behind. A pleasant surprise was the presence of Tressy Muhr (ISR) & Malia du Byr amongst the top three, earning bronze honors in 37.45 seconds.
