Bern, Switzerland – June 27, 2024 – The Swiss Equestrian Federation has announced the showjumping team for the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris, France. At the request of the responsible Swiss Equestrian selection committee, Swiss Olympic has selected the riders in the jumping discipline for the Olympic Games in Paris.
Four riders travel to Paris in show jumping. Both the team competition and the individual competition are held over a qualifying test and a final test, with three riders per nation competing. The pairs can be changed between the exams under certain conditions.
The selected combinations are the following:
• Martin Fuchs (SUI) & Leone JEI (Owner: Adolfo Juri)
• Steve Guerdat (SUI) & Dynamix de Bélhème (Owner: CHC Horses SA & LA GIRAFFA SA)
• Pius Schwizer (SUI) & Vancouver de Lanlore (Owners: François Vorpe & Giuseppe Marino)
• Reserve: Edouard Schmitz (SUI) & Gamin van ‘t Naastveldhof (Owners: Arturo Fasana & Céline Corghi-Fasana)
• Travelling Reserve: Janika Sprunger (SUI) & Orelie (Owner: Sportstall Tina Pol AG)
Chef d’Equipe Peter van der Waaij looks to Paris with confidence: “I have great confidence in the selected riders and their horses, and we are working towards Paris with a good feeling. With Martin Fuchs (SUI) with Leone JEI and Steve Guerdat with Dynamix de Bélhème we have two couples who are currently among the best in the world and we are very happy that Vancouver de Lanlore is back in top form under Pius Schwizer (SUI). This means we have three strong and very experienced couples for Paris who, together with the still young but very strong rider Edouard Schmitz (SUI) and Gamin van ‘t Naastveldhof, can achieve a lot. We are confident in our potential and will give everything in Paris. These riders are highly motivated and have a strong team spirit. We’re not just going to Paris to participate, we really want to deliver!”
